Ringing in the 2012 with Scallops

Posted by piphunt on January 1, 2012 in Adventures of Pip, The Little Chef

Last night I wanted to make something special. I was almost inspired. Almost. I was also tired, cranky, and dehydrated from coaching in the balmy 4 degrees at Alta all day. Wait, wasn’t it 55 on Friday? When did it suddenly decide to be winter? I mean, it’s cool and all, just please bring us […]

Falling into Fall: Apple Pie

Posted by piphunt on November 4, 2011 in Adventures of Pip, The Little Chef

The last couple Farmers Markets in Salt Lake left me lusting after apples; sweet galas, crisp red delicious, or tart and juicy granny smiths called my name from farmer’s stalls. Fall means apples: apple pie, apple sauce, apple butter, apples and almond butter, apples and pork, apples anyway you can imagine them. Am I making […]

Sharing Love: Pumpkin Pie

Posted by piphunt on October 26, 2011 in Adventures of Pip, The Little Chef

I have friends from all walks of eating life. Either by choice or by food allergy, a get together with a large group of friends can be tricky. I enjoy the challenge. Food is how I share love. It’s a shared experience, and it not only says “I love you” but I also says “I […]

A Little Kitchen Experiment

Posted by piphunt on October 22, 2010 in Adventures of Pip, Fitness, The Little Chef

The leaves are changing, cider is on the stove and pumpkin carving is in full swing. It’s definitely fall. As much as I love snuggling up in warm sweaters with a cup of hot cocoa on my back porch and watching the leaves fall, I think my favorite part of fall is squash. Pumpkin squash, […]

Baking!

Posted by piphunt on April 26, 2010 in Adventures of Pip, Fitness, The Little Chef

One thing being injured has allowed me to do is cook, a lot. If I’m sitting around the house watching it rain outside, I may as well be doing something productive! Plus, I really enjoy cooking/baking in large quanities so that I can freeze some for another day!

Happy Easter!

What better way to celebrate Easter than with a little bit of arts and crafts? My friend Lindsay and I decided to get the festivities going a little bit early this week, we spent our Friday night in decorating Easter eggs. But not just any old Easter eggs… MONSTER eggs. Now we’re heading to the […]

Good friends, Good snow, Good food

Posted by piphunt on February 15, 2010 in Adventures of Pip, Fitness, The Little Chef

My good friend Crystal Lee arrived as my very own Valentine yesterday, even though I had to work all night! Well, it kind of happened that way. She was coming, Valentine’s day or not, for the next stop on the FWT in Crested Butte. We’re leaving tomorrow for my favorite little mountain haven, and in […]

Food for thought…. or for your tummy!

Posted by piphunt on February 4, 2010 in Adventures of Pip, Fitness, The Little Chef

As an athlete, eating is something I can’t ignore. It’s a balance between eating healthy, eating on the go, and getting enough calories. I’m also gluten intolerant, which makes eating on the go a little bit more tricky. Recently, my newest sponsor, SLC Crossfit told me about Fitday.com , an easy to use website that […]

You do what with your pumpkin???

Posted by piphunt on November 4, 2008 in Adventures of Pip, Fitness, The Little Chef

This is a few days late, but my roommate and I made a Halloween feast, where we actually ate the pumpkin, and it was delicious! (the leftovers still are!) What you’ll need: 1 large onion, diced 3 garlic gloves, diced 1 can diced tomatoes 1 package ground beef 3 carrots, chopped Lentils (we used the […]
