30 Resorts 30 Days: Take II

Seth’s adventures on the road ended at Brighton yesterday. Yes, we went out with a bang. Although this bang may not be the most triumphant bang. Seth and I were cruising down our second groomer of the day, laying some ruts in the fresh groomers, and scoping the resort for potential ski testers. There he was, our ski tester, in all his blue, red, and yellow Brighton ski instructor glory, heading to the right. I zigged, Seth zagged and BANG! That was it. My skis slid underneath his and the impact sent my flying… right onto my right shoulder. Despite my protests at the Bird a month ago about how much I detest sled rides, this time I just couldn’t say no. However, the Brighton clinic does have a nifty ramp that slides the sled straight into the building. Everyone at the Brighton clinic was exceptionally nice and took amazing care of me. Seth was great too, drove me around till we found a place with my insurance and hung out for 5 hours with me at the U hospital. Turns out, I separated my AC joint, which isn’t too bad. I have a little bit of recovery time, but no surgery! However, you should definitely check out Seth’s blog from day 28, he does a much better job at describing the crash than I do! Plus, he gives some excellent tips on safety!
