92 degrees and ski boots

Posted by piphunt on April 8, 2009 in Adventures of Pip, skiing |

Why is everyone in Pheonix airport staring at my ski boots in such a funny way? Crystal, Hannah, and I are laden with ski gear hanging out at a Mexican restuarant sippin’ on Margaritas waiting for our flight to AK. Apparently it’s abnormal to see ski boots slung over a pack in AZ, but not nearly as weird as flying south from Salt Lake to catch our flight North right? The IFSA Freeskiing World Tour finals are kicking off in Alyeska on Friday, 10th April on some of the best terrain the US. has to offer, and the 6 hour flight totally qualifies it as an international tour now that we have left the lower 48. Hopefully our trip will go a little bit smoother than Kirkwood….. although a little bit of adventure is always welcome!!!
